Play’ N Go Just Launched Samba Carnival Pokie
Samba Carnival is a new pokie developed by Play’ N Go. It is themed around the
festivities of carnival. The week long South American party recently swept the continent, and Play’ N Go has added to the fun with this pokie.
Carnival is all about letting your hair down, and having the best possible time imaginable. Trying to capture the essence of carnival is a big ask for a video pokie.
What We Like
We have mixed opinions about the appearance of this pokie. It is a little messy, the circle buttons in the panel are a little bit all over the place and it is not the clean polished design, we normal look for in a game. That being said it is themed around carnival and a bit of mess is in the spirit of things.
From this point of view, it is an endearing design, not that it was ever ugly to begin with. The background image is of the night sky, with fireworks exploding in the black. Further, down the image there is a sea of feathers, this is a nice offset against the black background. Play’ N Go have animated the feathered performers, on the reels, to shake and jiggle when the reels stop spinning. And it is good to see a pokie developer factoring in the inertial forces on the female body.
We like that this is not a conventional left to right pokie, and it instead will play a win anywhere along the payline. Although there are only 15 paylines, you will feel like you win a lot more that a 15-payline game would allow. We like that the game still has reasonably high symbol values.
Whenever the game mechanics are modified to accommodate wins, not player left to right, we find that the symbol values suffer. It is a trade off, and any time a developer makes it easy to win, they need to make the wins worth less to keep the pokie in their favour. We like that Play’ N Go has found a nice equilibrium and Samba Carnival churns out wins, above the wager.
Samba Carnival has multiplying wilds, which we like a lot. The game’s game mechanics make the multiplying wilds all the more effective, and they result in big wins almost every time one lands on the reels. They are the Maracas Symbol, and if found in a winning line they will multiply that win from 2x to 5x.
Just when you thought Samba Carnival could not possibly have anything more to offer there is a pick and choose feature. It has very simple gameplay, in which you choose between three bongo drums and a rewarded a value up to 150x stake.
What we do not like
We have mixed feelings about the appearance of the game, but still think Play’ N Go could have done something with the panel. Apart from that, we think this is a great game and have no mean things to say about it.
Is this game worth playing?
This game is worth playing. It has interesting game mechanics, which make for a quick and entertaining game. You will find that this game can hold a bankroll steady until you win big. It is a well themed game with a lucrative feature, and we recommend you give it a try.
