Starquest, A Game With 117,649 Megaways
Starquest is a space adventure kind of game, and it is offered by a developer called Big Time Gaming.
The game has its good sides, but they’re mostly related to the features, the design relying on way too many gemstone like icons and poker symbols, with only a few being related to the chosen theme.
There are a lot of things that will recommend it though, including the use of 6 reels which have a varying number of symbols, between 1 and 7 each one. The Megaways vary between a few dozen and 117,649. The regular payouts could go up to $37,500.
What We Love
The few well designed areas show how good the game could’ve been, if the developer didn’t get lazy with the symbols.
You have a beautiful image of a planet seen from space for the background, while on the reels the only truly great looking symbol has a female astronaut, armed with a laser gun. Every other symbol is a logo, a sort of gemstone or a poker card.
One of the things that defines this pokie machine is its use of Megaways. The game has 6 reels, and for each one the number of symbols can be different each round. Anywhere between 1 and 7 symbols can be present on a reel.
Symbols will just change their size, so the same icon can be small when there are 7 on the reel, or big when there are 2 of them. The Megaways work just like the ways to win, but they form combinations starting from either side of the game area, not just from the left.
The biggest feature offered by the game seems to be the Full Reel Wild, the astronaut lady being the one shown on it. This one takes over the entire reel, and it is counted as five symbols. These wilds start off with a multiplier at 1x, but which can grow up to 5x during respins.
Even better, multipliers work with each other, so if you have one at 3x and another at 4x, the result will be a multiplier of 12x for those wins. These wilds are used on the middle reels, the ones from columns 2, 3, 4 and 5.
An added advantage of the full reel wild is that its appearance will trigger a respin, for which the multiplier will be increased by 1x. If additional wilds appear, they will add their multipliers to the mix and will start up another respin.
What We Do Not Like
Big Time Gaming got lazy with the design, and didn’t take its good sides all the way.
Starquest has all the features you might need, so it shouldn’t be hard to convince you to play it.
